Logs are a way to capture posts after the fact -- or during the fact -- and format them for others to read.
When you want to start logging a scene, the easiest way to do it is this:
Record.Click here to start recording everything from this post forward. You can optionally type in a name for the log in the Log name field, but you can just click Start recording if you want and use an automatically chosen name. From that point on, every post made to the room will be fed into a log with the given name.
To see all the logs you currently have, go to My account | Scene logs. All your logs will be available there.
If you click on the name of an existing log in the scene logs panel, you can see all the details for it, as well as HTML, Markdown, and plain-text versions of the log.
Most of the time, you'll only want a small subset of users or handles in a given log. To prune down which users or handles have their posts shown in the log, you can select them from the log's details page. You can also select Filter out OOC posts to remove anything that's not an in-character post.
All these filtering actions are non-destructive. They don't change the contents of the underlying log, only how they're presented when you click one of the "view" tabs. You can always clear the changes to see everything.
The overview page for a log will have a button at the top describing its status (e.g., "Currently running"). You can click that button to pause the log at its current point, or resume it again if it's currently paused.
If you want to manage a log from a specific post, you can click the Record button on a given post to do that.
When you click Record while logs are running, you'll see the "Record posts" window, along with a list of all the logs you're currently running in that room. You can then pause a given log at that post, or resume it from that point forward too.
The overview page for a given log has a button at the bottom right, Delete this log, to completely remove the log from your logs.
Deleting a log does not delete the underlying posts associated with it. It only deletes your log of them.
